FlySafair’s Business Booster Competition supports South African entrepreneurs by offering prizes like flights and advertising to help them grow their businesses, with entries open from August 6 to 24, 2025.
FlySafair is inviting small business owners to participate in its annual Business Booster competition, now in its fourth year. The initiative aims to support South African entrepreneurs by helping them find growth opportunities. Chief Marketing Officer Kirby Gordon emphasized that growing a business can be challenging, and the competition provides entrepreneurs with support, exposure, and connections.
To enter the FlySafair Business Booster competition, small business owners must submit their entries via the Business Booster website before 24 August 2025. Six winners will be chosen and will receive benefits including ten domestic return Business Class flights, promotion on the Business Booster landing page, a full-page advertisement in InFlight magazine, visibility on FlySafair’s homepage, and a profile on their social media pages.
Past winners like Thobinceba Qambela, founder of Fierce Creative Academy, reported significant benefits from winning the competition, including travel and the opportunity to build business relationships beyond their home city. Qambela shared an experience of connecting with a potential business partner during a flight, highlighting how the competition has helped her entrepreneurial journey.
The competition has supported diverse businesses from various sectors, including construction, fashion, fitness, pets, and travel. For example, Anthony Johnson-Watts, founder of Find A Coach, shared how the competition boosted his business from 50 to over 250 coaches in six months. He noted the credibility and support from FlySafair made a significant difference for his startup.
Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are crucial to South Africa’s economy, driving innovation and creating jobs. Gordon highlighted the importance of supporting small businesses, particularly in a country facing high unemployment, as a way to foster inclusive growth and resilience in underserved communities. Entries for the competition are open from 6 August to 24 August 2025.
